Excessive hunting pressure on Florida Wildlife Management Areas during the early part of hunting season necessitated a system of control on number of hunters. Systems were developed to issue a limited number of permits to applicants on a firstcome, first-served basis. FORTRAN and COM PASS computer programs were used to enter data and issue permits in I system while manual sorting and mechanical'imprinting were used to issue permits in another system.
