SEAFWA has joined the North American Lead-Free Partnership, signing a resolution supporting its mission to reduce lead exposure in wildlife while protecting the future of hunting.
The mission of the North American Lead-Free Partnership (NALFP) is to empower hunters to continue wildlife conservation leadership through choices that manage lead from hunting ammunition in the food chain. Through deliberate collaboration, we champion practical, enduring solutions that promote wildlife conservation and stewardship, while ensuring effective harvests, to secure the future of hunting. The NALFP was founded in 2018 with a shared mission to conserve wildlife and ecosystems through education and collaboration. As data mounted on the risk of spent lead ammunition and fishing tackle, founders recognized an opportunity to act, not with mandates, but through voluntary leadership. The goals are to reduce lead exposure in wildlife, to support wildlife conservation through hunting, and ensure ecosystem health for future generations.
