Stomach contents of black bullheads (Ictalurus melas) collected from inshore areas of newly impounded Beaver Reservoir by electroshocker revealed distinct differences in diet between periods of relatively stable water levels and rapidly rising water level. During stable water level periods, Entomostraca formed 72 percent of the volume of food of young-of-the-year bullheads (<4 inches, total length). Stomach contents were examined from 579 longear sunfish, 381 green sunfish, 173 bluegill, 206 largemouth bass, 264 smallmouth bass, and 328 spotted bass collected from the shoreline area of Bull Shoals Reservoir, April 1964 - March 1965. The food of the six species by seasons and size groups (0-1.9, 2.0-3.9, 4.0-7.9 and 8.0 plus inches) is presented. The Physical-Chemical Limnolgy of a New Reservoir (Beaver) and a Fourteen Year Old Reservoir (Bull Shoals) Located on the White River, Arkansas and Missouri

This paper compares limnological conditions of two reservoirs in the same drainage to determine whether there is a significant difference in basic fertility associated with age. Bull Shoals, the older reservoir of the study, filled in 1952, contains 45,440 acres ,at top of power pool, and has been under intensive study since June 1963. Beaver Reservoir, located upstream, began filling in December 1963 and reached 16,210 acres in 1965. At top of the designed power pool, it will encompass 28,220 acres.
