Perception And Use Of Wildlife By North Central Florida People

Results of over 250 interviews and 600 mail questionnaires indicate that over 40'10 of north central Florida adults are hunters. This is a significantly larger proportion than buy licenses. There were no significant socioeconomic or demographic differences between hunters, nonhunters and antihunters except that males dominated the hunter group. Hunters appear to be more knowledgeable about wildlife than either the nonhunters or antihunters. Over one-half of present antihunters hunted in the past.
