Angler Exploitation and Angling Mortality of Largemouth Bass and Spotted Bass at Norris Reservoir, Tennessee

Angler exploitation, sex and size selection, temporal and spatial capture patterns, and angling mortality were determined in 1996 and 1997 for largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides), spotted bass (M. punctulatus) in Norris Reservoir, Tennessee. Adjusted annual angler exploitation was 20% (± 4) for 1996-tagged largemouth bass and 14% (±4) for 1997-tagged largemouth bass. In 1976, the alewife (Alosa pseudoharengus) was stocked in Watauga Reservoir, Tennessee, by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA), in an attempt to strengthen the forage base. To assess ecological impacts of the introduction, both age and growth and food habits of alewives were evaluated along with food habits of adult game fishes. Growth and Food Habits of Young of Year Walleye X Sauger Hybrids in Cherokee Reservoir, Tennessee

In May 1982, 31,600 sauger (Stizostedion canadense) male x walleye (S. vitreum) female hybrids and 17,200 fingerlings from the reciprocal cross were stocked into Cherokee Reservoir, Tennessee, in an attempt to reestablish a fishery for large percids where the 2 parental species have been extirpated. Of the 217 fish that were recaptured, 184 (85%) contained food. Ultrasonic Tracking Of Smallmouth Bass In Center Hill Reservoir, Tennessee

Ultrasonic tracking was conducted on 11 smallmouth bass (Micropterus dolomieui Lacepede) in Center Hill Reservoir, TN from 24 May 1973 to 25 July 1974. Transmitters which had an average life of 30.4 days, were implanted in the body cavity and were a successful tool for studying fish movement and behavior.
