The Effect Of Orientation And Light Intensity On Utilization Of Artificial Wood Duck Nest Boxes

Artificial wood duck nest boxes were surveyed during 1977 on the Bear Creek Waterfowl Management Area in west Tennessee. Box types used were wooden, metal vertical, and metal horizontal. Utilization, height, orientation and hatch success were recorded. Light intensity readings were taken on ten days. Utilization was 15% for wooden, 27 percent for metal vertical, and 0 percent for metal horizontal.
