Memorandum of Understanding for Bear Euthanasia

This Memorandum of Understanding was prepared by the Large Carnivore Working Group of the Wildlife Resources Committee for the Southeastern Association of Fish & Wildlife Agencies. This document formalizes support to responsible jurisdictions when that jurisdiction has determined that a black bear, or bears, should be euthanized. This document does not constitute an obligation on the part of any signatory to utilize euthanasia in any particular case. This document was adopted by the Wildlife Resources Committee on October 19, 2014 in Destin, Florida and was subsequently adopted by the SEAFWA Board of Directors on May 14, 2016 in North Carolina.
